Rehabilitation Counselor
- Westchester County
- Dutchess County
- Full Time
This position works under the supervision of the Residence Manager to provide direct services to individuals in a residential setting. The Rehabilitation Counselor is responsible for creating a normalized, therapeutic, and safe environment while promoting residents’ positive self-esteem through supportive interactions and respect for individual rights. This rewarding position, based on the values of honesty, integrity, and fairness, provides the opportunity to work closely with other team, family, and community members. Develop your knowledge and skill set through paid training.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work (no waivers permitted)
- Valid and clean Driver's License for at least three years
- Minimum one year experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities is preferred.
- Age Requirement: Must be 21 years or older
- Certifications: Must complete within six months of hire: o Medication Administration o CPR o Strategies for Crisis Intervention & Prevention-Revised (SCIP-R) o Gastrointestinal nourishment assistance (as applicable)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
- Able to climb stairs while carrying up to 60 lbs
- Ability to push wheelchairs and assist with mobility
- Able to drag an individual (on a blanket) weighing up to 100 lbs during emergencies
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment
- Dexterity necessary to effectively work with individuals served including but not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, moving, climbing, bending, carrying, kneeling, crawling, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Must have use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Full-time, hourly, non-exempt position eligible for overtime
- May be required to work additional hours to ensure adequate staffing ratios

Residential DSP

Support individuals with exploring and participating in their community through shopping, social connections, recreation, and volunteer activities. - Prior experience working with developmentally disabled people, the elderly or children is preferred.
- Must work positively within a team environment, be able to work independently, an exercise common sense.
- Must have a personal computer device, such as a home computer, laptop, smartphone, or tablet and be able to perform required documentation on the personal device using the agency's software.
Community Habilitation Specialist
- Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, Greene and Columbia Counties, NY
- Part Time
Support people in recreational, social, and skill-building activities within their homes and the community to achieve their goals. Encourage independence and personal choice. Work closely with team, family and community members while developing your knowledge and skillset through paid training.
