Cultivating Dreams: The CBS Farm
Invest in Yourself and Your Dreams
People come to Cultivating Dreams Farm to invest in themselves and their dreams. Set on a small farm in Dutchess County, people of all abilities engage in agricultural and life skills. At Cultivating Dreams, they blossom into confident young adults with a sense of purpose.
People being supported by Community Based Services can experience a year-round agricultural experience in our two greenhouses and open air gardens. They gain pre-vocational skills by learning the basics of planting, raising and harvesting simple crops. Life skills, such as cooking and home maintenance, are taught in the farmhouse. The expansive field, basketball, bocce, and pickle ball courts and weight room support the wellness program. Creative art classes are held in the renovated barn. In addition to agricultural, life skills, wellness and art activities, participants have an impact on the local community through volunteer opportunities with Dutchess Outreach, the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and local senior centers.
