Calling All Golfers: CBS to Host Charity Golf Event at Hollow Brook

Enjoy playing golf on the most beautiful course in Westchester County and help people with disabilities engage in transformative, creative arts at Hudson Valley InterArts Center.

Cortlandt, NY – Community Based Services, a non-profit that cultivates dreams, provides jobs, and enriches the lives of people with autism and other disabilities, will be hosting a charity golf event on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Hollow Brook Golf Club in Cortlandt, NY. The event will benefit CBS’s  innovative Hudson Valley InterArts Center and its satellite locations throughout Westchester County. Registration begins at 10:30 am, with a 12:15 pm shotgun start. In addition to lunch, golfers may enjoy a prime rib or salmon dinner at 5:30 pm. A silent auction, raffle and prizes will make this event a hole in one!

“Please join us for our 3rd annual charity golf event being held on August 26th at the beautiful Hollow Brook Golf Club. The scramble format will be a day of fun, delicious food, prizes, and awareness – to raise funds for our new Hudson Valley InterArts Center and other innovative services for the people and families we support,” says Job Developer Joe Conti, who is organizing the event.

The Arts are Essential to the Human Experience

CBS recognizes that the arts are essential to the human experience. This is especially so for the one in four Americans who has a disability. The Hudson Valley InterArts Center brings people out of their loneliness and into a creative community to experience the transformative power of the arts. Our decades-long work of creating inclusive and purpose-driven programming is now uniquely poised to serve the larger societal and public health needs of authentic connection, creative expression, and relationships that cultivate social and emotional engagement. This expansion of scope only deepens our time-honored mission by further integrating our original communities into the larger societal fabric. We hope that you will join us in our expanded mission.

Services to Address the Epidemic of Loneliness

When in the Spring of 2023 the Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy announced an emerging epidemic of loneliness in the United States, citing decreased health outcomes and serious psychological and social repercussions, we saw this as a call to action. This is an important opportunity and natural expansion of our work to help support inclusivity, as well as serve more people who feel isolated or lack accessible outlets for creative community involvement.
