Community Based Services (CBS), in collaboration with Dutchess County and Think Differently, will host a Transition Fair on ThursdayMay 8, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:30 PM at Spackenkill High School. This event is for professionals and families of transition-aged students (12-21 years old) to learn about the service and program options available while planning for life after high school in Dutchess County and the surrounding areas.

The fair will provide valuable information on available resources, programs, and opportunities to help families navigate the transition into adulthood and plan for their children’s future.

Community organizations will be available to help families learn about opportunities and steps involved with the process of planning for life after high school, including:

  • Employment
  • College Programs
  • Day Programs
  • Housing
  • Guardianship
  • Care Coordination
  • OPWDD Eligibility
  • Recreation and More!

While at the fair, families can choose to register for transition planning support with a dedicated CBS transition coordinator.  The program offers families education of the transition planning process, community resources, OPWDD eligibility, and supports available after graduation.
