Giving Societies
A Named Endowment Fund can be established with a planned gift, bequest, or outright donation of $25,000 or more. These funds may be named in honor of an individual to support one of the Foundation’s programs, services, or facilities, creating a lasting legacy of impact.
Founded in 1981, Community Based Services grew into a major force to support and nurture the needs of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Hudson Valley. We honor that special date by presenting The 1981 Society award to donors who make outright gifts of $25,000 or more to the CBS Foundation’s endowment fund. These gifts can be in the form of cash, securities, land, five-year pledges, or other property suitable for an endowment fund or easily converted to cash.
The Founder’s Circle celebrates donors who make a profound impact by designating deferred gifts to the Foundation’s endowment funds. With a commitment of $100,000 or more, you can leave a legacy that supports our mission for generations to come.
Unlike other endowment recognition programs, membership in the Founder’s Circle is available to those who make planned gifts through:
- Charitable bequests in a will or codicil
- Charitable trusts, including unitrusts, annuity trusts, lead trusts, and supplemental needs trusts
- Life insurance or retirement plan beneficiary designations
- Other deferred gifts approved by the Foundation
