The first ever “CBS Got Talent” show brought people together to celebrate the vibrant creativity within the CBS community. Organized by InterArts Coordinator Taylor Martin, this spectacular show was hosted at the innovative Hudson Valley InterArts Center on August 25. It was the long-awaited finale to the last Friends & Family Farm Day of the summer season. Program participants and their staff were invited to shine and share their talents on stage. They did not disappoint!
Performers took to the stage with a contagious enthusiasm that warmed the hearts of a lively and supportive audience. The songs of Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Jonathan Young ignited a sense of joy, while the strumming of acoustic guitar captivated the audience. The stage came alive not only with music but also with the reflective cadence of poetry. Laughter became the soundtrack of the day as performers took the mic to share their wit and humor through an array of jokes, amusing anecdotes, and unique tricks.
“My face actually hurt from smiling for six hours straight, and there were many times throughout the day where I had to wipe tears from my eyes in watching people beam with the joy of self-expression,” said Taylor.
Beyond the applause and cheers, the talent show spotlighted something far more significant – the power of inclusivity. The event united people of varying abilities, reminding us that the stage of life is open to all who wish to share their gifts. It highlighted the importance of providing opportunities for self-expression and personal growth, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and celebrated.
