Community Based Services (CBS), a nonprofit dedicated to providing services for people with autism and other disabilities, is delighted to announce the soft opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its latest innovation, the Hudson Valley InterArts Center. The InterArts Center is a one-of-a-kind, multi-arts hub set in Putnam County. Designed to provide transformative arts experiences for people of all abilities, it has become a beacon for creative expression.
The event will take place on December 13, between 12:00 and 4:00 PM at 40 Jon Barrett Road in Patterson, NY. The community is invited to enjoy refreshments, take tours, and learn more about the vision for the InterArts Center. It will also be a time to thank the Thomas and Agnes Carvel Foundation for its major contribution to the InterArts Center. The event promises to be a showcase of the transformative power of the arts in creating a more inclusive and enriched community
Situated within an expansive 15,000 square foot building, the InterArts Center features a diverse array of studios for art creation, dance, music, pottery, podcasting, and a performance space for dramatic arts. Within these state-of-the-art studios, classes are offered in painting, ceramics, drawing, drumming, singing, dancing, yoga, performance, crafts, and beyond. Currently, over 200 people enter its doors each week to engage in classes taught by professional artists and musicians, ensuring a high-quality creative experience.
The InterArts Center welcomes people of all abilities living in Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, and Orange Counties, with satellite locations, including the CBS Farm, Cultivating Dreams. The InterArts Center aims to support social and emotional health, providing a space that fosters joy and fun. With no artistic caliber to be met or rigid guidelines to follow, everyone is welcome to explore creative avenues in a safe and supportive environment.
