Spirits Shine Under Sunny Skies at the Dream Big Charity Golf Scramble

Sunshine, strong swings, and an even stronger sense of purpose set the tone for the 5th annual Charity Golf Scramble at Salem Golf Course.

Sunshine, strong swings, and an even stronger sense of purpose set the tone for the 5th annual Charity Golf Scramble at Salem Golf Course. On June 8th, 94 golfers came together for a day that blended friendly competition with meaningful impact in support of the CBS mission.

The course was in pristine condition, providing the perfect backdrop for a vibrant day of play. From the first tee to the final putt, the energy was high as participants embraced every opportunity to compete—whether aiming for the longest drive, testing precision in closest-to-the-pin challenges or chasing the excitement of the hole-in-one $20,000 cash prize.

Beyond the fairways, the excitement carried into a lively afternoon filled with connection and celebration. Guests enjoyed a dynamic auction experience featuring standout offerings—ranging from exclusive golf outings to premium race day experiences and other sought-after prizes. Thanks to the engaging leadership of emcee Chuck Newman of HILB Group, the room was filled with enthusiasm, generosity, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

One of the most powerful moments of the day came not from the course, but from three remarkable young men supported by CBS. Ivan welcomed guests with lively piano pieces, his talent both delighting and impressing the room.

Brandon moved attendees with an original spoken word performance reflecting on his experience at CBS, sharing, “Their patience, kindness, and support change lives forever. They help us gain confidence and follow our dreams.”

Steven spoke about his journey toward supported employment at Vista Lab. Reflecting on that path, he shared, “I knew CBS would prepare me for success, and they did that from the very start. In every single life there are struggles. They will come and they will pass. But dream big and don’t give up.” Each of their contributions met with a standing ovation—an unforgettable reminder of the impact behind the mission.

What made the day truly special was this spirit of community. Players, sponsors, and supporters came together not just for the game, but for a shared purpose: advancing programs that promote independence, creativity, and opportunity for people of all abilities.

Events like this continue to demonstrate what’s possible when people come together around a cause. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, contributed, and helped bring the day to life—your support drives our mission forward in meaningful ways.
